Ernest Barvoets

Ernest Barvoets, 68, passed away on May 26, 2026 after a long and courageous battle, finally finding eternal peace surrounded by the love of his family.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife and best friend of 45 years Donna Barvoets, whom he loved deeply and wholeheartedly. Their life together was built on love, loyalty, great humor, and unwavering support through every season of life.

Above all else, he cherished his family. His children Taylor (Marc) and Ernest “Alex” (Ann) and grandchildren Kendall, Trey, and Ernest “Palmer” brought him his greatest joy and deepest pride. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together, nothing meant more to him than being surrounded by those he loved most.

He also found happiness taking walks with their dog Hudson and on the tennis court, where a great match and good competition always lifted his spirit. Tennis was one of the many ways he embraced life with determination, passion, and joy.

Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength, resilience, and kindness. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort knowing he is now at peace.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 4th from 4:00pm-6:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home at 181 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Watervliet, NY 12189.
