Latham- Ellen C. Palmiotto, 77, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 9, 1940 in Corinth, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret "Peggy" Brennan.
Ellen graduated from Corinth High School and went on to receive her certification for hairdressing, where she went to become a hairdresser in Rochester, New York. Ellen moved back to the area and went to work for Firestone where she became the first woman in the management program. While working at Firestone, Ellen attended Mildred Elley where she received her certification for Medical Assisting. Ellen then retired from Firestone and went on to work at Albany Medical College.
Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Osborn (Karen) of Latham, New York and Julie Cross (Ken) Ellenton, Florida; her loves of her life, her grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Nick and Lilee Cross, Courtney Wanzer (Nick) of Ellicott City, Maryland and Justin Osborn; her sister, Marylou "Deb" Olsen (Jim) of Vermont. Her Shih Tzu, J Lo, also survives her. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews. Ellen was predeceased by her husband, William Osborn and her second husband, Vince Palmiotto.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 10am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, New York, 12110. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1717 Central Ave. #105, Albany, NY, 12205 or to Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
