Elaine K. Rozniewski

LATHAM - Elaine K. (Kaczmarczyk) Rozniewski passed away peacefully at home on August 26th, 2026. Born on July 5th, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Kaczmarczyk. Elaine will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around her family, her faith, and the people she loved.

Elaine attended business school and worked as a secretary for Sunoco, where she met and won the heart of Casper Rozniewski, the man who would become her beloved husband. Elaine and Casper shared 60 years of marriage until his passing. Throughout their many years together, they shared a special love of polka music and dancing, spending countless happy times together on the dance floor.

Elaine later earned her degree in Paralegal Studies with High Honors from Schenectady County Community College in 1991 and went on to work as a paralegal, a profession that reflected her sharp mind, attention to detail, and genuine interest in the legal field.

In her younger years, Elaine enjoyed bowling and participated in bowling leagues. She also generously gave her time to others, including serving as a Girl Scout leader.

Elaine had a passion for travel and enjoyed exploring extensively throughout the United States, taking cruises, and visiting Europe, with a particular love for Italy and France. She was also an avid reader who valued learning and self-education throughout her life. Elaine had a love for art and painting, creating beautiful works that became treasured pieces in the homes of those she loved.

Her Catholic faith was an important part of Elaine's life. She taught religion classes to children and served as a Eucharistic Minister, sharing her faith through service to others.

She was the loving mother of her three daughters, Deborah Rozniewski, Gina Brownell, and Cynthia Scheffer, and the proud grandmother of Nick “Nana” Brownell, Jessica Brownell, and Anna Brownell. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Kaczmarczyk, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Raymond and Edward Kaczmarczyk.

Elaine's family, faith, friendships, and the many simple joys she shared with those around her defined a life filled with love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, grandchildren, sister, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Elaine's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice, Kind Heart Companions, and especially her devoted aides, Devi and Shelly, for the extraordinary compassion, kindness, and dedication they showed Elaine and her family. Their loving care was an immeasurable blessing and brought great comfort and peace to Elaine and those who loved her, especially in her final days.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St., Schenectady, NY 12304. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2150 Central Ave, Schenectady, NY 12304.
