Elaine C. Delanoy

July 31, 1929 — April 26, 2025

HALFMOON – Elaine C. (Krzykowski) Delanoy, 95, a lifelong beacon of warmth, dedication, and community spirit, passed away peacefully April 26, 2025 at her daughter’s home.

Before graduating from RCS, Elaine was a proud cheerleader and often sang duets with her best friend, Mary Griffin, with whom she shared a deep and lasting bond until Mary’s passing in late 2024.

Elaine’s life was one of service and devotion. She was a faithful member of the St. Francis de Sales Rosary Society and church choir, and she generously gave her time volunteering at schools her children attended and at local hospitals. Elaine also contributed to her community through her involvement in the Albany Polish Community Center, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the West Albany Ladies Auxiliary.

Her professional career began with the New York State Liquor Authority and culminated in her retirement from the Office of General Services, where she worked in security. During her time there, she proudly served as the secretary of her union. Elaine was also a Level 2 Reiki practitioner (Okuden), dedicated to healing and wellness.

But more than anything, Elaine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She often said that she and her husband’s number one priority was their children. The joy of her life came from time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Elaine’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Elaine was the daughter of the late Valentine Krzykowski and the late Anna (Waldowska) Krzykowski. Elaine was predeceased by her beloved husband, William D. Delanoy, her daughter Nancy J. Campbell, and her son Joseph C. Delanoy. She is survived by her children: Christine McGrath, William Delanoy, Susan Delanoy, John Delanoy, Mary Woehrmann, Rose Bikowitz, Jennifer Poleto, Margaret Mosall, and Michele Stamas. She also leaves behind her sister, Helen Benedetto; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her treasured lifelong friend, Janice Mittler.

In accordance with Elaine’s wishes, no public services will be held. New Comer Cremations and Funerals will be handling her final arrangements. Elaine will be privately interred at 9am on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Our Lady Help of Christians, 41 Jolley Rd, Glenmont, NY 12077.
