Greenville- Eileen C. Sheldon, 76, went into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2018 surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Born on December 24, 1941 in Albany, a daughter of the late Isaac and Lillian Thomas Brandon. A lifelong resident of the area, Eileen graduated in 1961 from Philip J. Schuyler High School. She went on to receive her L.P.N License from Albany Memorial School of Nursing, beautician license from Austin Beauty School and studied Art at College of Saint Rose. She worked at Albany Memorial Hospital and she retired in 1991 from Central Nursing Associates after 25 years. Eileen loved to do Arts & Crafts in her free time. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend; she will be sadly missed by all.
Eileen is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce Sheldon, whom she married in 1962; sons, Stepheon Sheldon (Katie) and Shawn Sheldon; brother, Reganald Brandon; sisters, Tina Robinson (Talbot) and Yulanda Brandon; grandchildren, Stepheon, Derrick, Latesha, Kayla and Sidney; great-grandchildren, Krystiana, John, Emma, Aaliyah and Jayleigh. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A going home service for Eileen will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 12noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held prior to the service starting at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
