Egeria Wood

Scotia - Egeria "Jerry" Wood, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Baptist Health Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born on March 20, 1930 in Albany, a daughter of the late George and Hazel Crouch Snyder. Jerry was a lifelong resident of the area, residing most of her life in Saratoga where she took great pride in being able to be home to raise her children.

Jerry loved to do arts & crafts, play BINGO and loved cats; especially her late cat, Casper. She was also a member of the Guilderland Senior Center. Jerry was a past member of Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Saratoga, Carmen Road Community Church in Schenectady; she was a current member of Christ Community Church in Schenectady.

Jerry was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold Wood Jr. who passed away in 1993; her daughter, Tina Shearer (late Kurt); her sister, Ruby Travers. She is survived by her son, Paul Wood (Donna); daughter, Ruth Dinovo (Joel); brother, Douglas Snyder (Marilee); sister, Shirley Matott (Harold); eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for Jerry will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1pm at the funeral home. A graveside service be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 1pm at Maplewood Cemetery, Saratoga.
