In 1974 he married Virginia Nock Weston and was devoted to her for 51 years. Together they raised 3 children, Christopher , Melissa, and Michael.
Firefighting was in Ed's blood. He was a volunteer firefighter for over 50 years, serving with James Hill Hook & Ladder in Rensselaer, Schodack Valley Fire Company in Schodack, and most recently with Fort Hunter Fire Company as Lieutenant, Captain, Chief, Chief of Car one for the town of Guilderland and Commissioner of Fort Hunter.
In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his son Christopher, sisters Nancy and Wendy and brother Paul.
