Edward G. Ragule

Albany — Edward Ragule, 66, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Albany, he was one of seven children of the late Edward and Martha Ragule.

Eddie was a three sport athlete at CBA. He played football basketball and track.

During his senior year, he was switched to quarterback when the starting quarterback got hurt. Eddie led them to an undefeated season.

He was also outstanding in track in the long jump and triple jump.

He is a member of the CBA athletic Hall of Fame.

At Albany State, he was such a good athlete that he ended up being a starter at linebacker

After college he started his career at the Dock Builders Union. 

He is survived by his sons, Edward Tyler Ragule (Danielle) and Kyle Ragule (Kathrine); his grandson, Leon Ragule; and six siblings; Paula O’Connor (Leo), Steven Ragule (Judy), Susan Sullivan (Jim), Brian Ragule (Patricia), Gregg Ragule (Marlene), Michelle Kowalski.

Calling hours will be held Monday, April 13, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead Street, Albany, NY, with a Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m.
