Edward Morrison

Edward Morrison age 81 of Burnt Hills New York passed away on September 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Edward was born in Hudson New York to the loving parents Edward and Catherine Morrison.

Ed graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Hudson and then went on to Marist College and Hudson Valley Community College where he received an Associate's Degree.

After advice from his dad, he applied to General Electric Company and was hired to work at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna as an Engineering Specialist where he worked for 46 years. While at his time at Knolls he received recognition for several patent awards along with saving the company huge amounts of taxpayers money. Ed also had numerous accomplishments. His treasured accomplishment was working on US Navy Submarines.

Ed was instrumental, along with other parents, in starting the BL/BL High School Ice Hockey Program which also included bowling and golf. Ed enjoyed playing golf, playing volleyball, fishing and hunting with numerous close friends and his son Joe. He also most enjoyed the cherished friendships of his grade school friends Bill, Johnny, Leo and Dave.

Ed was a person who would do anything for you without ever being asked. Ed could fix almost anything in and outside of the house and he passed those attributes onto his son Joe. He would always find a way to make things work whether in life's challenges or anything domestic.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Cynthia (Cindi) whom he enjoyed 51 years of marriage, his son Joseph and partner Heidi, 2 grandchildren Sophia and Victoria Morrison, his sisters Mary Lou Casey, and Cate Balder (David). He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Carole Tomlinson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Christina and Scott Casey, Megan (Ryan), Steven (Amanda), cousins Peter, Paul and Jack and Faith and Crystal, Heidi's children.

Ed will truly be missed by all who knew him.

We would like to thank his physicians Dr. Philip Hunter and Dr. Azam Hussain for their dedication and support and to evervone for their continued prayers during this most difficult time.

A mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 1st at 11 o'clock at the Immaculate Conception Church 400 Saratoga Road Glenville New York.

Calling hour will be held at 10 o'clock prior to mass.

All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
