Albany - Edward C. McCullough, 85, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at St. Peter's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family.
Ed was born on May 24, 1932 in Albany; a son of the late Robert and Susan McCullough. Ed was an altar boy at St. Patrick's Church and graduated from Vincentian Institute, along with his twin, Sr. Jane McCullough, R.S.M, in 1950.
Ed married Marcia Warner in 1957; they raised a beautiful family of one girl and four boys. He enjoyed a 38 year career at Niagara Mohawk; starting as a meter reader, to a position of line mechanic foreman and then safety supervisor. Ed had a great love for sports, especially Notre Dame Football. He was quick with a wisecrack; you knew how much he liked you by the amount of grief he gave you. Ed had a laugh that was infectious and an ability to connect to all he met.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Marcia, include devoted children, Colleen (William) Connelly, Daniel (Tricia Criscone) McCullough, Paul (Susan Diep) McCullough, Michael McCullough and Christopher (Jennifer) McCullough; his sister, Sr. Jane McCullough, R.S.M; grandchildren, Matthew and Brendan Connelly, Daniel and Tristan McCullough and Katie McCullough; cousin, Joseph Carey and sister in law, Grace Warner. Several nieces, nephews and close friends also survive. Ed was predeceased by his brother, Robert McCullough.
Special thanks to the entire St. Peter's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Staff; as well as Hospice for their kindness, respect and compassion shown to Ed each and every day.
