Colonie- Edward Meisner Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3rd, 2015.Edward was the son of the late Julius Meisner and Catherine Riccardo.
Edward had many hobbies including fishing, bowling, watching football, playing the slots at the casino, and scratching scratch offs. Senior was always accompanied by his son Ed while they fished, something they both had a passion for. Going to the casino was always one of his favorite things to do, he would get lost in the slots for hours. Monday through Friday you could catch Senior at Branch Auto Parts with his two sons (Ed and Tom) where they ran a salvage yard for more than 50 years, 30 of them with Ed Jr. and Tom.
Ed will be forever missed by his wife of 52 years, Sandy, his sons, Edward (Bridgett) Jr., and Tom, and daughter, Christine.He was loved deeply by his grand kids, for he was at every Football game and every Cheerleading competition. He was blessed with 5 grand kids; Marissa, Nicholas, Annie (Matt), Mark and Lindsey, and two great grand kids; Hailey and Brooke. His beautiful daughter Chrissy was always his caregiver and will always be his little girl.
Senior left his mark on every person he met. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. His family will always remember his famour breakfast pancakes and passion for cooking.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie, on Wednesday December 9th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Thursday, December 10th at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the team at the St. Peter's Community Hospice Inn. The family would like to extend their gratitude to them for the tremendous amount of love and care they provided, along with the St. Peter's ICU and ER teams.
