Edward Hansen

ALBANY_Edward A. Hansen, 86, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2015.

He was born on August 12, 1929 to the late Ernest and Florence (Burke) Hansen in Union City, NJ. On January 30, 1954 he married Adele (Lord) Hansen. Edward and Adele lived in Albany where they raised their 3 children. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a Warehouse Manager for Grand Union in Waterford, NY. He was a proud member of MENSA for 40 years.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Adele; his children, Debra and her husband John Sitterly of Guilderland and Mark Hansen of Orange County, TX; his sister, Florence and her husband Vincent Arfuso; grandchildren, Lauren Sitterly, Patrick Hansen, Israel Hansen, Dakota Hansen, Christine Chavez; great-grandchildren, Patrick Hansen, Anthony Hansen, Gemma Hansen and several nieces nephews cousins and friends.

Edward was predeceased by his son, Glenn Hansen; his brother, John Hansen and his sister, Joan DeClemente.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A funeral service for Ed will be held on Monday at 12:00 pm immediately following visitation at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be held in Memory Garden's Cemetery.
