Edward Gardella, Sr., 98, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2014 at his home with his loving wife of over 77 years by his side.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Guildo and Mary Gardella. He worked for many years with Columbia Corp. until his retirement in 1980. He loved working on vehicles, he was an excellent carpenter, enjoyed working with his hands and he was very resourceful. He was also an avid Yankee fan loved his red wine and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by his ten siblings; his son Richard and his daughter-in-law Mary.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of over 77 years, Valencia (Chavez) Gardella; his children Edward, Danny (Stacey) and Tony (Sheila) Gardella. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Home Care, 150 Broadway Suite 310, Menands, NY 12204 in Edward's memory.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
