Edward F. Alheim

Albany- Edward F. Alheim , 93, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home.

He was born in Albany to the late Alexander and Isabella Alheim.

Edward was a graduate of the Vincentian Institute, and he worked for Niagara Mohawk for 40 years. Edward was very organized and took great pride in managing his affairs and maintaining his home of over 60 years. He loved reading mystery novels, studying history and spending time at the Rail Trail with his son Robert. Edward and his wife Mary enjoyed traveling, Ogunquit Maine was a favorite place. Edward was a longtime Notre Dame fan. He had a quick wit and keen sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary, and his brothers Walter, Albert, and William Alheim.

Edward is survived by his son, Robert Alheim, nieces Barbara Jean Genego Bender, Nancy Stoller and Heidi Zanotti.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday November 6th from 10am-11am with a service at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Road, Albany, New York. Interment immediately following in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
