Edna M. Waterhouse

Edna M. Waterhouse, 99, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026.

Born in Cohoes, NY, she was the daughter to the late Beulah Mae and Elmer Richard Higgins.

She enjoyed bowling, traveling to Myrtle Beach and cruising, spending time with her family, and especially horses.

Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, William Waterhouse; her sister, Mary Louise Calabrese; grandson, Christopher Waterhouse; and her beloved horse, Ginger.

She is survived by her children, William Jr. (Ann), David (Susan), Wendy (James) Becofsky and Richard (Lori); 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to The Kingsway Community administration and staff for the excellent care provided at all their facilities over the last 8 years. A special thank you to Darlene for years of fun and friendship and for motivating Edna to achieve multiple 300 games at Wii bowling.

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a funeral ceremony to immediately follow, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
