TROY- Edna Mattoon Maslott, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2017. Born October 31, 1925 in Stillwater, NY, she was the daughter of Frank and Edna Casey Mattoon, and sister of Charles, William, Frank, Donald, and Raymond Mattoon, who have predeceased her.
She was the devoted wife of Anthony F. Maslott for 52 years, who preceded her in death in April 1998.
Edna was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, class of 1943. She resided in Troy most of her life and was a communicant of St. Patrick's and St. Michael's churches. She retired from Norton Company in 1979 and moved to Ticonderoga, NY that year. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Ticonderoga. Edna was a Director of Volunteers at Moses-Ludington Hospital for 20 years. She was treasurer of the Carillon Garden Club for 15 years and a former Trustee of the Ticonderoga Historical Society.
After the death of her husband, she returned to the Capital District area in 2001, residing in Schenectady. She was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church and was a volunteer at Bellevue Women's Hospital.
She is survived by three children, Raymond (Eileen Murray) Maslott of Cincinnatti Ohio, Anthony F. Maslott, Jr. of Albany, and Katherine (Dennis) Rich of Schenectady; grandchildren, Regina, Joseph, Anthony, Jill, and Nikki; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 10am-12pm on Monday, January 23, 2017 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany. A service will follow at 12pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
