Dorothy Shellenberger

ALBANY-Dorothy Shellenberger, 97, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2016 at Evergreen Commons.

She was born on August 15, 1919 in Albany, NY

Dorothy worked for the NYS OGS where she retired after 10 years. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family especially calling them on the phone to chat. She loved shopping and going out to eat. She will be very dearly missed by those who had the privilege to know and love her in her 97 years.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Carole (William) Halikias, Thomas Shellenberger; grandchildren, Donna Delisle, Doreen (Marvin) Ford, Theresa (Michael) O'Brien, William Halikias, Stacy Shellenberger; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Robert, Richard, David, Kendalyn, Daniel, Marvin, Jr., Jason, Gregory, Abigail, William, Brittany, Richard, Michelle; 10 Great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Shellenberger; her daughter, Marguerite Delisle; her granddaughter, Deborah Delisle; her siblings, George Derrick, Edward Derrick, Rita Derrick and her best lifelong friend Edna Lupe.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 from 4-7 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie, New York. A funeral service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 7 pm following visitation on Friday.
Graveside services will take place at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery at 10 am on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
