Dorothy "Dottie" E. Rapp

Dorothy "Dottie" Elizabeth Romer Rapp, 90 born March 24,1935 passed away on November 24, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, NY. Dorothy was born & raised in East Greenbush, NY along with her parents and 10 siblings.

Dorothy worked for Friendly Ice Cream for 17 years on State Street in Schenectady, NY. She volunteered her time at the VFW Post 8692 for over 40 years and loved her work as the Hall Manager. She was a dedicated volunteer and enjoyed fund raising for the many charities the VFW is involved with. Dorothy was an avid Yankee fan along with all of her siblings and very seldom missed watching a game.

Dorothy was a wonderful mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister & daughter. She was blessed with so many wonderful friends & a large loving family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Nancy (Gary) Meunier, Robert B. (Becky) Rapp, Jr., John E. Rapp; five grandchildren, Joseph Meunier, Trent (Kelsey) Meunier, Robert B. (Heather) Rapp lll, Michael (Ashley) Rapp, and Brittany Rapp; Seven great grandchildren; Parker Meunier, Tenley Meunier, Hailey Rapp, Robert B. Rapp IV, Trevor Rapp, Silas Rapp, Stella Rapp; her sisters; Mary (Joe) Catizone, Betty (Jim) Wall, of Mississippi, Barbara (Leonard) Smith; brothers, Henry (Helene) Romer, William (Deborah) Romer; John (Sharon) Romer, Mike (Mary) Romer, of South Carolina; as well as several nieces, nephews and many cousins that were part of her life. Her greatest joy in her life was her family. She never needed much to make her happy but was very giving of herself to all that needed her help or advice.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Robert B. Rapp; parents, Joseph and Anna Romer; her brother, Joseph (Margaret) Romer; sisters, Ann (Clinton) Bonner and Helen (Omer) Garceau.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a public visitation on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm followed by a service to begin at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
