Dorothy "Dot" McMahon Darling, 93, of Elm St, Schenectady and Rynex Corners Road, Pattersonville, was received into the comforting arms of her Lord Jesus on February 4, 2017. Dot was born on October 24, 1923 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She was married to the late William "Bill" Darling; Dot was predeceased by two daughters, Barbara Feltt, and Elizabeth Kulzer, and a son, Richard Darling. She is survived by her brother, Billy McMahon (Lorraine) of Massachusetts, eldest daughter, Dorothy "Dottie" Trent (Jesse) of Kentucky, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who all delighted in her company. Dot worked as a driving instructor at Easy Method Driving School till the age of 75. She also worked as a crossing guard, loved teaching Sunday school, enjoyed playing hymns on the piano and card games with her children and grandchildren. Dot also had a knack for telling many great stories and a sense of humor that was with her to the end. She will be missed by those who knew her, but she is in Heaven with much of her family worshiping the Lord. A traditional Christian memorial service will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, Colonie Chapel, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205, immediately following calling hours, which will be from 10 am to 11:30 am on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Yellow, white, and purple roses are welcome to honor her memory as they were her favorite, but the family requests no fragrant flowers; donations in her honor can be made to Harvest Church at 303 Grooms Rd, Clifton Park, New York 12065.
