Donna Marie Sanfilippo

Donna M. Sanfilippo, 71, of Rotterdam, NY, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 26th, 2025.

She was born on June 5,1956, in the Bronx, NY, to the late Anne M. Sanfilippo and Arthur Sanfilippo.

Donna grew up with a deep-rooted love for family that would shape her entire life. Though she faced her share of challenges, she found joy and purpose in her relationships - especially as a mother and grandmother and embraced her role as the heart of her family. She was happiest surrounded by loved ones, whether sharing a meal she lovingly prepared, chatting over coffee, or simply being present in everyday life. She had a natural warmth that made everyone feel like family, and was known for her radiant smile, her easy laughter, and the way she celebrated even the smallest gestures. She loved cooking a hearty Italian style meal for the family, getting her hair and nails done, taking walks when she was able, and soaking in the little joys of life. Her patience, optimism, and unwavering kindness made her a steady presence and a light in the lives of all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Dennis Cafaro.

She is survived by her daughter, Raina M. Diamante; her grandchildren, William Taylor III, Zachary Taylor, Logan Taylor, and Natalie Taylor, all of whom she dearly loved and adored; her siblings, Jean Cafaro, Gail Borst (John), Anne Howell (Michael), Arthur Sanfilippo (Carol), and Lena Herbert.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A service will follow immediately at 3:00 PM.
