On Friday, March 13th Donna M. Finlay, of Stuyvesant, NY passed away at the age of 73 after a long illness. She was born in Albany, NY to the late Edwin J. Lawler and Kathleen Lawler. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's high school and throughout her many years of employment she excelled through her diligence and hard work and was always ready to help wherever needed. She was most recently employed at First Albany Corporation. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, William T. Finlay; her loving children Megan Newkirk (Robert) of Selkirk, Michael E. Finlay (Lauren) of Altamont and Christopher J. Finlay (Jennifer) of Schodack; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Caelin M. Newkirk, Maeve A. Newkirk, Rowan A. Newkirk, Locus M. Finlay, Oliver W. Finlay and Sebastian J. Finlay. Donna is also survived by her siblings, Kathleen Savage, Joan Lawler (Aldi), Teresa Armstrong (James) and Christopher Lawler as well as her sister-in-law Donna Lawler, her many loving nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her wonderful friends of decades Bonnie Borton, Sandra Nartowicz and Jackie Lapidus.
Donna was predeceased by her brothers, Daniel Lawler, Paul Lawler and Edwin "Steve" Lawler as well as her brother-in-law, Richard Savage.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the caring staff at Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for taking such great care of Donna.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
