Listen to Obituary

Donald Watts, 91, of Glenville, New York, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Don was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, on April 30, 1934. After successful careers in the printing and advertising industries, he dedicated his life to serving men and women in local county jails as a chaplain through “HOPE” Prison Ministry, which he founded in 1993.

While Don hoped to reach 100 years of age, he fit more than a century of adventures into the time he was given. A lifelong fan of auto racing, skiing, fishing, and day trips to Vermont, he was passionate about living life to the fullest.

Don is survived by his wife, Martie Watts, and their daughter, Beka Watts. He is also survived by his sons, Don Watts and Todd Watts, and daughters, Bonnie Watts, Pam Watts, and Donna (Watts) Hasselbrink.

A small memorial service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Niskayuna on Saturday, April 4, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Capital City Rescue Mission at capitalcityrescuemission.org.
