Dominic R."Nick" Cioppa

Albany- Dominic R. "Nick" Cioppa passed away surrounded by his family on March 10, 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Home in Guilderland. He was 92 years old. The son of the late Michael and Filomena (LaPosta) Cioppa, Nick was born on August 21, 1923 in Albany, NY. Nick served his country honorably in US Army where he was stationed in Japan. After his service he returned home and worked for many years as a manager for Met Life Insurance in Albany, NY. After his retirement he worked as a supervisor at Colonie Golf Course.
Nick was a very generous person, he loved his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Nick is survived by his wife of 43 years Antoinette Cioppa; his son Richard D. Cioppa and his wife Kathy; his grandsons: Michael (Margaret) and Stephen (fiancée Brittany) Cioppa; his brother Michael Cioppa and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Nick was predeceased by two wives Edith R. and Evelyn; 6 siblings and his beloved cat Ben.
Visitation will be held from 11 am to 12:30pm on Monday, March 14 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dominic's name to a charity of one's choice.
