Dianne Marie Elmendorf

Dianne entered into her Eternal peace on 1/22/2017 after a very short battle with cancer at St. Peter's Hospital. She was 73 years old. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Clara (Harris) Sherman.

Prior to going to work, she was a stay at home mother who loved to raise her children and babysat numerous kids. She worked for 25 years at the Voorheesville Schools in the kitchen doing what she loved best, baking and making children smile.

She was married to the late John E. Elmendorf.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her twin brother, David Sherman and her sisters; Gail McMillen and Claire Wilson.

She is survived by her sisters; Jean Thomas and Lois Sluzar, her huge family including her daughters; Kim M. Corey, Joanne M. Wright and Ann M. (Aaron) Dyer. She was the cherished grandmother of; Robert (Bethany Hellinger) Rock and Brianna Attanasio, as well as 2 great-grand-children Caleb and Hunter who adored her. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her best friend and sister-in-law, Carole Elmendorf, her Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune buddy Tyler Lorette, her devoted neighbors Karen and Tom Phipps and her extended family; Denise, Lee and Melissa.

Friends and family are invited to come and celebrate her life at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral service will follow the calling hours at 8pm at the funeral home and burial will be at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, time to be announced.
