Albany- Diane M. Slater, 57, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family after a 3 year long battle with cancer.
Diane was born on February 21, 1965 daughter of the late Nicholas Maurizio and Dolores Carr.
She will be remembered for her kindness and as a hard working woman. She was generous and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed.
Diane was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas Maurizio Jr.; sister, Shaneon Carr; stepfather, Robert Carr Sr.
She is survived by her children, Maraca Slater, Terissa Barnhill (Andrew Barnhill), Tyshaun Velonis, Shaquan Maurizio (Maryssa Klimek); godson, Tyleek Ramsey; grandchildren, Dennis, Jazminia, Davion, Matthew, Egypt, Andrew, Yahzsin, Davonis, Zahmere, Shaquan Jr., Persayis, Will-leyah, Laniah, Josiah; siblings Tony Gray (Eddie Gray), Thomas Ivery (Nicola Ivery), Monique Ivery, Laurie Griggs, Robert Carr Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 1-2pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
