MENANDS - Diane T. (Miles) Rider, 77, passed away peacefully on, Friday, July 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was born in Albany on July 8, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Mary (Gregory) and Howard A. Miles. Diane is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Richard "Herkie" Rider. Her daughters, Mary Beth Rider (Dan Fish), Kelly Barker (David), Wendy Decrescenzo (Elpidio "Arch"), and Robin Farrell; her grandchildren, David, Jessica, Megaen, Rachel, Tim, and Emily; her great grandchildren, Dannica, Jaxon, Jace, and Briggs; her siblings, David Miles (Mary), George Miles (Mary), and Lynda Cooper (William); many nieces and nephews and her extended family, Karen Winters Morris and her daughter, Allison.
She worked for Matthew Bender for a short period and enjoyed being a homemaker raising her family in No. Albany and Menands. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and crafts and loved to party with family and friends.
The family wishes to give their gratitude to Memorial Hospital Critical Care nurses and aides, and a special thanks to Eileen Fitzgerald of hospice.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 33 Walter Street, No. Albany, all are invited to attend. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Community Hospice, Gift Processing Program, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Diane.
