Diane F. Gavin, 63, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2015 at her home with her loving family by her side. Diane was born February 19, 1952, in Albany, NY, and is the daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy Parker.
She worked at the DMV for 30 years and made many friends who she enjoyed through the years.
She is survived by her much-loved husband of 33 years James Gavin. They were a fun-loving couple, who laughed a lot, called each other 15 times a day and danced in the living room when the mood was right. Diane is the cherished mother of James Gavin Jr., Dorothy Cardona and Michael Gavin. She is the unforgettable, "Grammy" to Antonio and Augusto. She is also survived by her two sisters and best friends Nancy Powers and Linda Kolnick.
Diane will always be remembered for her good humor, sweet gentle nature, wise advice, beautiful smile, affection for animals especially her beloved dog Meeka, thoughtfulness toward others and her perpetual worrying about her family whom she loved more than anything. The only thing she wanted in life was for her family to be happy. Her children are forever grateful for the lessons she taught them on how to love, laugh and be good down to earth people.
A beautiful sweet person, she gave herself to her family and will be terribly missed and forever loved.

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the funeral service from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
