Diana Lee (Cerrone) Lombardi, 51, of Cohoes, New York, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, following a sudden illness, surrounded by those who loved her.
Diana was known for her infectious laugh, generous spirit, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. She embraced life’s adventures with enthusiasm, whether it was spending a year in Germany as an exchange student or driving cross-country from California to New York. Music was a deep passion for Diana, and she loved sharing that joy by taking her nieces and nephews to concerts. An animal lover, Diana found fulfillment in fostering cats and had a heart that always reached out to help others.
Though she was the first to admit she wasn’t perfect, she always meant well and had an unwavering commitment to her family and friends. Born on August 16, 1974, in Schenectady, NY, Diana was the daughter of the late Sharon Croff and Antonio Cerrone. She is survived by her loving sisters, Laura (Cerrone) Moore and Amy Cerrone, as well as her former spouse, Jay Lombardi. Above all, Diana was a devoted mother to her son, Gianni Lombardi, who was the light of her life and the center of her world. Diana was also the cherished granddaughter of the late Roberta (Nelson) Croff and Ernest Croff, and the late Loreta (Iafrate) Cerrone and Loreto Cerrone. In addition to her immediate family, Diana is survived by her adored nephews and nieces: Carl Daniels, Kendra Cole, Jonathan Brunner, Ellen Brunner —who will forever remember her as their "cool aunt." She also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a wide circle of dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a memorial service to celebrate Diana's life to immediately follow at 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. All who knew and loved Diana are invited to join her family in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Diana’s memory to Autism Speaks, P.O. Box 37148, Boone, IA 50037-0148.
