Diana (Jamack) Lindhurst
Diana was born on June 5, 1950 in Pittsburg, CA to Canadian parents. John and Wendy Hood, thereby ensuring her dual citizenship.
As a proud Canadian, Diana graduated from McGill University with a degree in special education. She taught many years in the Mohonasen school district where she was distinguished by the caring, kindness, and encouragement she showed towards her students and co-workers. These qualities characterized Diana’s interactions with everyone she met or worked with whether adults, children, neighbors, or strangers.
Diana’s love of people extended very naturally to animals. Baillie and Piper, her beloved Scotties, were her constant companions and she knew the names of every neighborhood dog that the three of them met on their daily walks. Her bird feeders were always full, and birds of all kinds flocked to her yard.
Above all else, Diana was a strong advocate for women. As a descendent of a great-grandmother who chained herself to Parliament in the struggle for women’s suffrage, and of a mother who fought for women’s reproductive rights, Diana believed that women’s abilities were not restricted by their gender.
Diana is survived by her beloved daughter Wendy Jamack (Jules), her husband Dennis Lindhurst, and by her sisters Rosalind (Mike) Bell, Joan Jarvis, and Eileen Hood (Marcel).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Jules Dance Academy; 175 Park Avenue; Cohoes, NY on January 17, 2026 at 3:00.
