Devan Christopher “Tiger” Gipson-Dobbs

Devan C. Gipson-Dobbs passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, after a brief illness. Devan was born August 16, 1971 in Grand Rapids, Mi. to Kabeerah Fardan and William Dobbs, who predeceases him.

Devan was raised in Schenectady, NY and attended the Schenectady City School District . He loved his family deeply and was the laugh of the party. He had a special love for music, when he was younger, he would spend hours writing music.

His survivors include 3 children, Nashon Dobbs, Devon Dobbs and Natasia Nyree Dobbs; his siblings Michele Beekman, Normandy Loftin Stephanie Gipson and Andrea Gipson (who predeceases him). His survivors also includes 4 grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Albany Medical Center Hospital CCU staff for all of their kindness and care they showed Devan.

His services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY on Thursday April 30, 2026 1-3pm.
