Ballston Spa, NY- Debra "Debbie" Houghtaling, 59, passed away on July 29, 2017 after a short illness and surgery. Debbie was born on March 25, 1958 and raised in Ballston Lake where she also attended school. She married the love of her life, Robert Houghtaling in 1981 and they spent majority of their married life living in Ballston Spa, NY.
Debbie had too many "adopted" children to list, all of whom she thought of as her own. She was one of most generous people on this earth. She was an extremely talented person, whether it was crocheting baby blankets, creating elaborate fruit platers or her most beautiful famous candies, which she made for every occasion and celebration.
Her loving parents, Walter & Beverly Myers, who were waiting with open arms to greet her, predeceased Debbie. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Robert Houghtaling, her loving sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Dave Sparks, her nephew, Cory (Ashley) Sparks, whom she adored dearly.
Debbie is also survived by her Mother-in-law, Doris Houghtaling; sister-in-law, Dawn (Dave) Bielawski; brother-in-law, Larry and his wife Debbie; Best Friend Debbie Varin; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins.
A private service was held for Debbie in Ballston Spa.
