Latham- David J. Jones, 63, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was born in Albany, NY to the late James and Dorothy Jones on March 3, 1952. Sergeant Jones, Badge #18, was a loyal corrections officer for the Albany County Jail for over 25 years. His co-workers will miss him greatly, where he was affectionately known as "The Bear" and "Jonesy". He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 294. Dave will be remembered for his love of golf, and horse racing. He was a lifelong Mets, and Giants fan.
Dave is predeceased by his brothers; James Jones, and Howard Jones.
He is survived by his siblings; Paul D. Jones, Dorothy I. White, Deborah A. Rodriguez, and Paula J. Foster, several nieces and nephews, especially Erica Rodriguez and Olivia Faulkner.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 on Monday, January 11, 2016 from 4:00pm-7:00pm with a service to immediately follow. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 10:00am at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
