David W. Goergen

David W. Goergen, 84, of Schenectady, passed away on July 15, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.

He was born in Albany on January 10, 1941 to the late David and Dorothy Goergen.

David was a lifelong resident of the Capital Region. After his honorable discharge from the US Army, he went to work at General Electric of Selkirk, where he stayed for over 30 years until his retirement.

David loved traveling with, Lenore, every summer they took the motor home all across the country visiting all the National Parks and their children and grandchildren along the way. He enjoyed sailboats, motorcycles and anything mechanical. He had a knack for fixing things and loved being hands on.

He is survived by his beloved life partner of 30 years, Lenore Kaufman, son Scott (Pam) Goergen, granddaughters Ambyr (Dale) Flicstein, Alesha (Brian) Hild, great grandchildren Quentyn and Jocelyn Flicstein, Zander, Peighton and RaeLynn Hild, as well as his sister Joan (Raymond) Decker.

A graveside service will be held on Monday July 21st at 11:30am in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
