Daniel T. Whydra, 58, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his residence.
Daniel was the son of the late Thomas and Judith (Filsinger) Whydra. Daniel was the devoted husband to Anne (Donovan) Whydra. They were married 31 years.
Daniel was a graduate of Albany High School and attended the University at Buffalo. Most of his career was spent as an engineer with the New York State Dept. of Transportation. Daniel enjoyed spending time with his entire family and particularly his four grandchildren.
Daniel is survived by his wife Anne Whydra, his children: Jennifer (Oscar) Boomer, David (Samantha DeMartino) Whydra, Jessica (Marc Caprara) Alonso, Janastasia (Daniel Gottehrer-Graf) Whydra, his grandchildren: Emily Alonso, Natalia Alonso, Ian Boomer and Samuel Caprara; one sister, Dawn-Marie Livingston, his son-in-law, Juan Carrion Alonso, and one aunt, Dale Vincent. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Predeceased by his parents, his sister Donna-Lynn Whydra, and an aunt, Patricia Bieber.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Thursday June 29, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
