Daniel "Tom" Whitwell

Daniel “Tom” Whitwell, 87, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Born in 1938, in Troy, New York, to the late Roy and Anna Whitwell.

He retired from the state of New York and also built a career as an entrepreneur, serving as CEO of several businesses. He was also a certified New York State Article 19-A Certified Examiner.

Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family on the lake and vacationing in Maine. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Whitwell.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Whitwell, and by his daughters, Tammie Kelsey and Jenelle Kelsey. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Favreau, Cindy (Ray) Hayes, and Janice Mackey. As well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. Tom’s family was at the center of his life, and those who knew him will remember the care and love he shared with them.

Daniel “Tom” Whitwell will be remembered with love and respect by his family and by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will remain a lasting presence in the lives of those he leaves behind.

At the request of the family, services will be held privately. An inurnment will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871
