Listen to Obituary

Daniel Joseph Diamante, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, with loved ones at his bedside.

Born June 27, 1955, in Hollywood, California, he was the son to the late Nicola Diamante and Margaret Benaquista. He grew up in a lively, loving family that helped shape his sharp humor and big-hearted personality.

He was predeceased by his brother, Nick Diamante, whose memory remained close to him throughout his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Raina Diamante; grandchildren, William Taylor III, Zachary Taylor, Logan Taylor, and Natalie Taylor—who kept him endlessly entertained and often shaking his head with a laugh. His family circle also includes his stepmother, Diane Diamante; his siblings: Dennis Diamante and his wife Amy, and their children Dienna Matthews and family, Maria Kalra and family, and Alisa Diamante and family: Douglas Diamante and his daughter Megan Diamante, Emerick Benaquista and his wife Theresa, and their children EJ and family, Dylan, and Brianna Benaquista; and his sister, Gabrielle Diamante.

He had a gift for humor—sometimes sharp, sometimes goofy, but always unforgettable. He could make people laugh in places where laughter didn’t seem possible, and he had a remarkable talent for turning even ordinary moments into stories worth retelling. His love for exploring nature kept him wandering trails and enjoying the simple beauty of being outdoors, and his guitar was never far from reach. Whether strumming an old favorite or improvising something new, music was one of the purest ways he expressed himself.

Though he has left this world, the laughter he sparked, the stories he told, and the music he played will echo through the memories of everyone who knew him.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with a memorial service to immediately follow at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, where family and friends will gather to honor his life, share stories, and celebrate the man who made the world a little brighter—and a whole lot funnier.

He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered.
