Daniel P. Cahill

SCHENECTADY- Daniel P. Cahill, age 60, passed away on May 9, 2026 at his residence.

He was born in Albany, the son of the late Joyce Buff and Gerald Cahill. He was also predeceased by his brother Keith Cahill.

Dan is survived by his daughter Jennifer Cahill (Alex) and son Eric Cahill; three brothers: Gerald Cahill Jr., Michael Cahill (Christine), Christopher Cahill (Christy); his step father Paul Buff; many nieces and nephews and a close band of “brothers."

He was an honorably discharged Army veteran. He retired from the USPS in 2018.

Dan loved going to Lake Pleasant to go camping with Jen, fishing, canoeing, playing poker, bowling, loved music- especially Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains and Ozzy Osborne. He loved going to concerts with his brothers. He was a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox and NY Giants.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday May 18, 2026 from 4 to 6 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral service following at 6 p.m.

Interment with full military honors will be held privately at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society or to the American Diabetes Association.
