Cynthia Elaine Wimbush

After a brief illness, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia Elaine (Jordan) Wimbush, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Cynthia was born on August 6, 1956 to Lester and Pauline Jordan in Boston, MA. Cynthia graduated Jeremiah Burke High School and soon after moved her children to Schenectady.

Cynthia loved to cook and feed her friends and family. She also loved to crochet, a passion that she passed on to her daughter. No matter what she did in life, she focused heavily on her children Tanya and LaJuan. Cynthia's nurturing spirit, unwavering support and boundless love will forever live on in the hearts of Cynthia's daughter, grandchildren and all those who loved her.

Cynthia is survived by her husband Alvin Wimbush, her daughter Tanya Jordan-Torres, grandson Anthony Jordan, granddaughter Shadez Cabrera-Jordan and great grandson LaJuan Jordan. She is also survived by her favorite niece Samaiya as well as long time companion Willie Nixon and her best friend Irene West. Cynthia had a host of honorary grandchildren who she loved dearly. And a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her son LaJuan, her parents Lester and Pauline, sisters JoAnn and Wanda and brother Robert.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at Refreshing Spring Church located at 327 Georgetta Dix Blvd. Schenectady NY 12307. Viewing will be 11am-12pm and funeral 12-2pm.
