Cynthia L. Campbell, 84, of Loudonville passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 11, 2026. She was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Bucci) Houting. 

Proudly born and raised in Albany, Cynthia attended Cathedral Academy and Cardinal McCloskey Memorial High School (Class of ’59).

 Cynthia shared 57 years of marriage with her husband James Campbell until his death in 2018.

After dedicating herself to raising a family, Cynthia returned to school at HVCC studying early childhood development. For more than 20 years she was employed at First Expressions Preschool-Albany Medical Center’s communication disorders program as a teaching assistant working with deaf preschoolers. She was fluent in sign language and had a positive impact on each of the student’s lives. Cynthia was a member of the Blue Creek Garden Club and Siena University’s Saints Alive. As a Siena men’s basketball season ticketholder, she traveled to games near and far. She opened her heart and home to all who wore the green and gold.

 Cynthia is survived by her brother, William Houting (Cindy) and her children; Carla Philippbar (Mark), Christopher Campbell (Crystal), Lauren Keena (Michael), and Jennifer McLaughlin. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew, Kieran, Aidan and Shannon. Cynthia also leaves behind her loving partner of nearly 4 years, Steve Morrissey.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Siena University Saints Alive. 

Calling hours will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd Watervliet NY 12189. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 33 Walter St Albany NY 12204. Burial will follow at Agnes Cemetery.
