Conrad C. Keado

Conrad C. Keado of 204 Palmer Ave, in Rotterdam, passed away at 7 P. M. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital.

Conrad was born June 8th, 1923 in Cohoes to the late John and Gertrude Dogois Keado. After High School, he served in the Armed Forces, from 1943-1946, crewing the B-52s during WWII and ultimately attained the rank of Sergeant. Following his service, he acquired his Bachelors of Accountancy from Siena College and worked as an accountant and auditor for the Federal Government and private agencies for 65 years. He was also a Notary Public.

Post-Military, Conrad was an Original Member of the Interstatesmen Drum and Bugle Corps, where he met his Wife, whom he was married to for 63 years, until his passing. "Connie" Keado judged marching at the VFW Nationals and became Chief Judge of the NYS All-American Judges Assn. Throughout his life, Conrad was a lover of music and participated in all manner of musical volunteer work, and was an avid fan of bowling, scotch whisky, and the Yankees.

He is survived by his Wife, Patricia, Children, Christopher Keado (Kimberly) and Kimberly Hyland (Ted), and several grandchildren, (Kevin, Max, and Jake Keado, and Taylor, and Patricia Drake), and one Cousin (Shirley Sicko).

A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10am at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, 3040 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, 12303. Burial will follow at 1pm at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mohonasen's Music Department on behalf of Conrad Keado, should be sent to Tracey Fremantle, District Treasurer Mohonasen Central School District, 2072 Curry Road, Schenectady, NY, 12303.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Lauren Roman, a Nurse at Saint Peter's for the excellent standard of care rendered, and for her empathy, humanity, and compassion to his family during his final days.
