Concetta Taormina, 101, wife of the late Frank Taormina, passed away peacefully in Troy, NY on July 8th, 2026.
Born in Taormina, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter to the late Joseph and Maria Siligato.
Concetta lived a long-fulfilled life. She survived World War II, recounting her experiences with the constant bombings in Sicily.
Concetta met the love of her life, Frank, while living in Italy. They started their family before Frank immigrated to the US in 1951. Concetta and Matthew later joined Frank and settled in Ravena, New York.
She took great pride in caring for her family and her home. Her family never remembered a store-bought meal. She was often found tending to her garden, taking her tomatoes, and making her infamous red sauce.
Concetta was devoted in her faith. Her and Frank attended Parish of Mater Christi until physically unable. Prior to joining, the two attended St. Patrick’s Church, Ravena.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Taormina.
Concetta is survived by her children, Matthew (Donna) Taormina of Earlton and Nancy (Parker Race) Taormina of Albany; six grandchildren, Regina, Conchetta, Matthew, Nicolette, Bryant and Serafina; seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Delaney, Gabrielle, Lillianna, Samuel, Annabelle, and Frances “Frankie” Rose; several nieces and nephews.
