Glenmont - Christa Ulrike Charlotte Besson maiden name Knees, 86, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family.
Christa was born in Czechoslovakia on August 25, 1931 to the late Fritz and Ruth Knees. She met and fell in love with the late John Besson from the Netherlands. They were married on December 18, 1954. Shortly after the marriage they left Amsterdam, Holland to immigrate to the United States. Together they raised two sons.
Christa is predeceased by her husband John Besson, and her brother Willem Knees.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher (Bonnie) Besson and Andrew (Jackie Cafaro) Besson, her granddaughter Kayte Besson, her sister, Tordis Marks (Knees), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins in Europe.
Calling hours will be held at Solid Rock Church, 1 Kenwood Ave., Glenmont, NY 12077, on Wednesday, January 10, 2017 from 4:30 to 6:30, with a memorial service to immediately follow.
