Charles Eston Tucker was born January 13, 1938 in Carson, VA to the late Ruben and Blanche (Branch) Tucker. He departed this life on Friday, November 11, 2016 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife Claudia Tucker, and siblings Margorie Anderson, Ruby Lee Terry, Gene Tucker, Lester Tucker, and James Tucker.
He received his education from Southside High School. Charles accepted Christ at an early age and joined Little Zion Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, VA. He later served his country in the Air Force as Military Police. Charles held different positions in different jobs until he joined the IBEW Local Union #236 as a construction electrician. He received recognition for 35 years of service in the brotherhood. He had a burning passion for spending time with family, friends, and neighbors whether it was grilling in the yard, cooking for the holidays, or a random gathering at his home. His door was always open whether it was for a meal, a ride home, or words of encouragement. Charles consistently offered a hand up to those who were down and life lessons to those who were seeking guidance. Charles provided what was needed when it was needed.
On August 4, 1963 Charles (Horse) Tucker united in holy matrimony with Claudia and to this union five children were born. Charles was a loving, giving person devoted to his family. He could always be found caring for his children, grandchildren, extended family and neighborhood children as well. Charles always found time to sit and listen when needed: be it son, daughter, family member or friend. Charles lived to share God's greatest gift…. LOVE.
He leaves to cherish five children Shelia T. Wooden (Elwood), Surry County, VA, James M. Tucker, Karen A. Phillips (John), Marvin P. Tucker (Nicole), Sheronda T.
