Charles W. Jones

Charles W. Jones, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 13, 2026. Born in Yonkers, NY on July 27, 1936, he was the first son of Charles R and Wilma Jones. He is survived by his brothers George, Stephen, Edward, Philip, Michael and his sister Dorothy. He is also survived by his four sons, Charles (Kelly), Robert (Julie), Thomas (Christine) and Donald, as well as four grandchildren Bryan, Timothy, Laura, Elizabeth, and four great grandchildren. Charles was predeceased by his first wife, Dolores, his brother William and his second wife Barbara.

Charles moved to this area at school age, attending Middleburg Central School, graduating with honors in 1954. Afterward, he joined General Electric as a Laboratory Apprentice where he met his wife Dolores Serafin of 40 years. He served in the US Army for 2 years and resumed his career with GE. While working and raising a family, he also earned an Electrical Engineering Degree (1970) from Union College. Dolores passed away in 1999.

After retiring from GE and while widowed, he met and married, Barbara Mariani in 2011. They moved to Florida for several years, taking advantage of the mild winters and nearness to cruises. They returned to this area in 2014, enjoying their life together until she passed away in 2023. In his last years he enjoyed using his technical background in computing as well as visits from his friends and family.
