Schenectady- Charles J. "Charlie" Hofmann , 85, passed away peacefully after battling a long illness on Thursday, December 31st, 2015.
Born on July 29th, 1930, Charlie was the son of the late Charles and Edith Hofmann. Charlie was a veteran of both the Army Paratroopers, 82nd airborne division, and Navy. He was a retired Tractor Trailer driver and long time member of The Teamsters. He was also a proud member of the Guilderland Elks Club and the American Legion. Charlie enjoyed playing pool with his friends, golfing with his son Bruce, fishing with his son Chuck, and fishing in the waters of Arkansas where he visited his niece Kim and her family.
Charlie is survived by his sons: Charles F. (Jennifer), and Bruce, grandchildren: Jessica and Nicole; sisters: Catherine, Anna, Edith, Joyce; brothers: Robert and George M.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings: George L., David, John, Michael, LeRoy (Pete), Edward, Marie, Jean, and Margaret.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie, on Thursday January 7th, 2016 at 4-7pm with a service at 6:00pm. A Burial will take place at the Saratoga National Cemetery, Shuylerville, on Monday, January 11th, 2016 at 11:00am.
