Charles L. Barosso, fondly known as Chuck, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at Kingsway Arms in Schenectady. Born on January 2, 1942, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Chuck exemplified a life of hard work, discipline, and dedication, values he carried throughout his career and personal endeavors.

In his youth, Chuck worked diligently at the family greenhouse business while juggling his studies, embodying his strong work ethic.

A proud alumnus of Pittsfield High School, Chuck graduated in 1959 and went on to earn an associate degree in Floriculture from Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts in 1963. He went on to work at the SUNY Research Foundation, from which he eventually retired.

Together with his beloved wife Donna, they relocated to the capital region to raise their family.

After retirement, he and Donna embraced the warmth of Florida winters, enjoying daily golf games in the sunshine. In the summer months he enjoyed his time in the Capital region, frequenting the Capital District YMCA. He was also a huge fan of the New York Yankees, sharing his enthusiasm for the game with friends and family alike.

Chuck is survived by his children, Kevin (Leslie Ponzini) and Carrie (John) Hillenbrandt, along with his adoring grandchildren, Erin Wyatt, Sydney, and Lyndsey Hillenbrandt, as well as his brother, John Barosso.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Premitta Barosso; his beloved wife of 55 years, Donna; his sisters Betty Jackson, Carol Barosso; and his brother Peter Barosso. Chuck will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all.
