Charlene M. Daus, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
Born on July 29, 1946 in Watervliet, a daughter of the late Charles and Gloria Whited Richenecker. A lifelong resident of the area, Charlene graduated from Watervliet High School.
Charlene worked for several years at Silver Haven Nursing Home as an LPN. She was very kind- spirited, had a huge heart and would always make anyone and everyone feel at home. Charlene opened her home to many and ran a "play group" daycare for over 20 years. She cared for many children who she loved like her own. Charlene was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed by all. Most of all, she was a beloved Meme; never missing her grandchildren's events, especially baseball games.
Charlene was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Kenneth E. Daus, who passed away in 2007. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth C. Daus, Jason Daus (Alisun) and Kacy Daus (Jamie); only sister, Jill Czub; special niece, Michele Czub; grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, Taylor, JJ, Cameron, Robert and Samantha. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Calling hours for Charlene will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4pm until 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany.
