Loudonville- Catherine F. Knox, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 21, 2016 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness. The daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Anita (Rossi) Knox, Catherine was born on December 24, 1942 in Troy, NY. After graduating from Troy High School she attended business school in Albany. She was employed for New York State in the Department of Labor, Boardman Ltd., and Wustefeld Candy Company. Her last job was as the office manager for the Rensselaer County ARC until her retirement.
Known to her beloved grandchildren as "Ghee," she took pride in supporting their various activities. In her spare time, Catherine enjoyed camping and dining out with friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert W. Wagner, Sr.; her children: Colleen (McGowan) and her husband Nicholas Efstathiou, Pamela (Wagner) and her husband William Weber, Robert W. (Michelle) Wagner, Jr.; her grandchildren: Ryan Sage-Wagner, Demos Efstathiou, Jonathan Weber, and Catherine "Peppy" Efstathiou; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her former husband, James McGowan, with whom she remained friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary Ann McGowan and her sisters, Shirley Wagoner and Constance Knox.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 25 at 12pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will be private.
