Catherine E. Hilson

Catherine E. Hilson, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026 at St. Peters Hospice Inn with her loving family by her side. Catherine was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Walsdorf. She was the devoted wife of over 58 years to the late Charles "Ray" Hilson.

Catherine was a hairdresser for many years before dedicating herself to raising her children. Over the years, she enjoyed camping and canoeing with Ray and fondly remembered meeting him while summering at their family’s camps on the Hudson River. Family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them. Catherine also held a special place in her heart for her many beloved pets throughout the years.

Catherine is survived by her children, Chuck (Debbie) Hilson and Elizabeth "Beth" Richards. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren, Michael, Raymond, Stephanie, Adam (Alice) and April (Jarred) and her cherished great granddaughter Theresa. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia (Steve) Macejka.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, New York on Friday September 4, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm. Entombment will follow the service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
