Carol A. Hallenbeck, 83, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. Born in Albany, New York, Carol lived a life marked by kindness and dedicated service both to her family, friends, and her career.

For many years, Carol made significant contributions to her profession, working for the IRS in Albany, NY. Her commitment to her work reflected her diligent nature and her desire to serve the community around her.

Carol was a member of the Loudonville Community Church and highly active for 5 years in the International Friendship Team of the church, after which she accepted the leadership of the team for a few more years. This group helped with the resettlement of Bhutanese and Burmese refugees in the Tri-City area, many of whom remember her with great fondness. After they had moved to other states, they would come to visit Carol. Carol was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club of the Capitol District and was highly vocal about her faith and trust in Jesus which was a great source of strength in her battle with cancer and kidney failure. She died peacefully, confident of her future with Christ in his everlasting kingdom.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Hallenbeck, and her parents, Joseph and Priscilla Sulzman.

Family and friends are invited to join at Woodlawn Cemetery in Valatie, NY, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 11AM in the farewell to Carol.
